3 Ways to set up your online business presence in 2019

Businesses can no longer rely just on word of mouth to gain new customers, although word of mouth is one of the most effective marketing strategies, businesses must be present online. A business with a presence online allows the company to show potential customer that they do exist and are a legitimate company. An online presence provides a business with credibility and a platform in which potential customers can see interactions between the business and its customers.

For some businesses, setting up and creating an online presence can be seen as an intimidating uneasy process but it is actually quite simple, so let’s take it slow! We will show you three ways you can create a basic online presence to get your name out there!

1. Google my business

Have you ever googled a service or business and you instantly seen the information displayed on the side of the screen? Something like this:

If you’re deciding what social media platform to use for your business, if you are just going to use one, use Facebook, (2.27 billion monthly active users on Facebook as of September 30, 2018)

Social media provides business the platform to not only advertise their business and services but to connect with consumers that are interested in your business/service. By providing content such as special offers, business updates, before and after photographs of your work, you are opening up your business to new consumers and providing them with information and photographs of your services etc.

This is extremely important to potential consumers, without a website, you essentially have a store with no signs or window. When people hear of your business through word of mouth they want to see what your business can do. A website is your platform to provide this information. You already know what you want your website to show, you’ve had this information since you opened your business, take some time and write it all down, that way when you come to creating your website you won’t have try and remember it all again!

There are quite a few simple website builders, such as Googles personal website builder which links automatically to your my business page. WordPress and Squarespace are a bit more complex but are favorites for the foreseeable future, if you’re not interested in doing this all yourself, you can always hire a website developer to help you out!

Doing all this will certainly help your business in 2019, think about your own search experiences, what you came across (or hoped you would come across) when searching for a particular business or service online. The easier you make it for people to find your business, the more likely you are to win their business when they’re searching for the service/s you offer!
